2004 on a limited scale but really took off in 2007 as a resource for music
downloads.

The website has a catalogue of 3.5 million tracks. Even video,
audio books, and comedy tracks are available for purchase.
Most of tracks are offered in WMA format (DRM protected). Now that all major
record companies have dropped DRM more and more MP3 tracks are appearing even
high in high quality (320 kpbs). Some albums are available in the lossless FLAC-format.
Registration is free and you will even get a locker for the songs you purchased. This locker is an online backup, where you may download your purchased songs again, should your files get damaged or lost.

DRM protected WMA files cost 79p per track. MP3's are 99p a piece. Album prices start from £5.99 per album. Albums in WMA and MP3 are equally prized. There even is a limited number of free downloads
